Everything, for your Good

Every single thing.

The things we deemed failures and the mistakes from our past; the hard stuff and the heartbreak and the hurdles along the way– He uses it all as healing.

Everything becomes preparation. Everything serves a purpose. Even when we heard His voice tell us to go the other direction, Jesus, in ALL His grace, uses that detour to disciple us.

Sometimes, it feels impossible.

“How will He use THIS for my good? There is no good in this sickness/divorce/problem/tragedy/etc.” and our faith begins to waver as our perspective becomes limited.

Don’t you remember, friend? He made all of this. The ☀ and the and the and the and the and the . And then you and me. And in His magnificent mercy, He allows us to take part in bringing Heaven to .

We know so little, see so little, grasp so little. Faith is based on the very notion that we believe He is a GOOD, good father. And that even when it doesn’t feel good or look good, He uses it for our good.

Often not in our preferable timing and usually not in our expected way, but that is the beauty of the Lord. Despite our best attempts to control, manipulate or conjure up what we believe would be the best plan, He rescues us time and time again, reminding us that His sovereignty is our saving grace.

Everything. Always. For your ultimate good and for His glory. That should make you raise those hands in praise

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” -Romans 8:28

I have always known how important it is to start your day in ways that provide energy, strength, and focus for the hours that follow…but it felt so difficult. It required some changing of habits and some rearranging of my schedule. It...

Goodbye to guilt & receive His grace.
Goodbye to guilt & receive His grace.

May 30, 2018

I used to believe that guilt was holy in a way. It showed that I knew what Jesus was asking of me in a moment or that I knew something I should’ve done or been, and I regretted not being/seeing/doing that. Maybe it’s guilt over not being the best daughter you can be. Or brother, wife, husband, friend, sister, etc. Maybe it’s those words you said about a coworker in the heat of the moment that you didn’t...

Speak them out loud.
Speak them out loud.

May 29, 2018

I remember sitting in a conference a couple years ago and the speaker said, “Tell yourself out loud! Speak it over yourself but give it volume!” And I’m thinking, “I have never done that, consistently at least.” I was also thinking, “Is that like a true difference-maker? The whole giving it volume, making sure your own ears hear it thing?” Well, joke’s on me because I have noticed, over the big and the small things, that when I...
