Ah, the classic “hump day”.

I swear, for some reason, I always think the hard stuff is going to happen on Wednesdays. I don’t know if it’s because everyone is finally awake from their weekend and I am about to get slammed at work or whether it’s because everyone is aware Friday is two days away and I am about to get slammed at work.

Either way, it’s get crap done day. That’s the truth.

But hey, isn’t that a great thing?!

I suppose it depends all on the way you frame it.

How have you framed your Wednesday so far? That it will be full of stress, your mind will be overwhelmed, your schedule will be jam-packed and every facial expression will scream of “I’m seriously not into conversation with you today”?!? If that’s the case, then that is exactly how it will go, regardless of what enters your day.

You see, the future of your today depends a lot on how you frame right now. Are you setting yourself up for success or stress?

Think about it like a camera– what are you allowing into your frame that might be affecting your focus and therefore changing your perspective and inevitably hurting your future?

Give this day a chance. It has SO much promise but you must be wise about how you frame your moments so that you can attack this day like you know how!

Zoom in on Jesus. Let the light in. Take out all the extra clutter. Set the stage. Give yourself time. Be okay with the unexpected.

Frame your 8AM so that your 8PM self will say, “seriously, you are the”. It feels good to be proud of yourself, doesn’t it?! You go ahead with ya bad self!

Today is Wednesday and there is 100% chance of sunshine

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” -Romans 12:2

I have always known how important it is to start your day in ways that provide energy, strength, and focus for the hours that follow…but it felt so difficult. It required some changing of habits and some rearranging of my schedule. It...

Goodbye to guilt & receive His grace.
Goodbye to guilt & receive His grace.

May 30, 2018

I used to believe that guilt was holy in a way. It showed that I knew what Jesus was asking of me in a moment or that I knew something I should’ve done or been, and I regretted not being/seeing/doing that. Maybe it’s guilt over not being the best daughter you can be. Or brother, wife, husband, friend, sister, etc. Maybe it’s those words you said about a coworker in the heat of the moment that you didn’t...

Speak them out loud.
Speak them out loud.

May 29, 2018

I remember sitting in a conference a couple years ago and the speaker said, “Tell yourself out loud! Speak it over yourself but give it volume!” And I’m thinking, “I have never done that, consistently at least.” I was also thinking, “Is that like a true difference-maker? The whole giving it volume, making sure your own ears hear it thing?” Well, joke’s on me because I have noticed, over the big and the small things, that when I...
