You can do SO much with today but you can do absolutely nothing with yesterday.
Reflect on it? Okay, yes. Enough to absorb and glean the lessons necessary from it. Forgive yourself for it, however you messed up or wish you would’ve spent it differently? Completely.
But all else? Nada. Zilch. Done, finito, in the PAST.
And the crazy awesome, almost confusingly amazing part about our Jesus? He has already forgiven you for whatever you’re still holding onto and He is saying- “Hey! We have stuff to do today, get on with the show!” (Or that’s how I imagine Him talking).
Friend, every day is new, every slate is clean, every past is purified and every mercy is yours in Jesus. Don’t let the temptation to hang out in the “should’ve” keep you from the “now I can” that is today.
Now that? That’s mercy! Downright undeserved, life-changing mercy and we better do something with it.
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” -Hebrews 4:16
