As we get going and the demands of our day pry for our attention, we often let that determine what we “see” or experience.
Maybe you’re going from one client meeting to another, maybe you’re finishing up a large proposal, maybe you’re checking off monotonous weekly tasks, maybe you’re dropping one kid off at karate & taking the other to gymnastics, maybe you’re sorting through bill after bill– whatever it is, it’s easy to get stuck in the weeds.
I don’t mean that all of these are not incredibly important because that is the exact opposite of true! You are supposed to work with excellence, that is what He asks of us! BUT…but, in order to be a person of excellence, I think you must first be a person of perspective.
However big the task, keep it in check with how big your ultimate Taskmaker is! What does He want from you? What is important to Him?
YOU. That’s what’s important.
He wants your attention. He wants you to SEE Him in the everyday, mundane routines of your life. He wants you to be aware of His love and in order to do that, we must stop and SEE.
Those birds outside your work window that calm you down sometimes? That friend that checked on you this AM and reminded you it will be okay? That song that came on in the car that spoke to your being and prepared you to tackle your day? That creative approach you came up with to better handle a problem or situation?
All of it, it’s all grace. Everything good is His gift. When we start to SEE and identify all the little traces of His hand, we find that He is everywhere, always, without limit and faithful.
Let’s choose to SEE him. It’s going to be a GREAT Friday!
“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.” -Hebrews 4:13
“May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in His works — He who looks at the earth, and it trembles, who touches the mountains , and they smoke.” -Psalm 104:31-32
