Sometimes I revel in this truth and feel like there has to be something I’m missing, right?
How can the God of the Universe love me so much and so purely and so truly and so perfectly that no matter what, there is nothing that I can do to lose His love?
Even though I am very aware that grace is the only reason we have access to such love, I sometimes fall into the trap of thinking my achievements, good behavior or simply my love for Him — that’s what keeps me in His hands, yeah?
Because I reciprocated, He richly lavished.
But, that is not the case at all. Granted, He is SOOOO happy that I love Him back but my response has nothing to do with His choice to forever pursue my heart.
Because He is God. The greatest. The only constant. The Alpha and The Omega. The Prince of Peace. The Savior of the World.
And when the Savior of the World tells you there is nothing- not a single dadgum thing- you can do to lose His love, you have no choice but to open those arms, take a deep breath and say THANK YOU.
So, today, can we all say “Thank you” together? Can we all let go of our shame and our guilt and our worry and our fear and open our arms to what He has for us instead?
The kinda love that you think must be in short supply because it is far too sweet to not be, ya know?
And the same kinda love that you realize never runs out…because He is love and He definitely isn’t running out on us.
That’s crazy love and it’s ours.
Oh, how He loves us, friends. OH, How HE LOVES US!
“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” -1 John 4:9-11
