Not up for negotiation.

not up for negotiation blog.

Preface: This blog was more for myself than for anyone, really. I needed it so I figured you might need to hear this as well.

You are valued.

I know, that sounds elementary, typical and like nothing new, right? Well, for me, I realized that sometimes I just need to hear it.

It’s like when you ask a rhetorical question, “Do I look fat in this?” or “Do you love me”, you already have an expected response, but you just want to hear the answer for affirmation.

And guess what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that!

So, no, I am not going to fill your head with a bunch of fluff or say things that aren’t true but the reality is this- you need to know you are valued.

You are irreplaceable. You are worthy. You are important.

There is simply no one like you. Not even one! The combination of your personality, your gifts, your heart, your quirks- everything- it all sums up to be one heck of a person that can not be recreated!

When Jesus made you, He smiled, like really big. Seriously! You are His masterpiece.

Friends, we must stop letting this be just what we say and more so what we BELIEVE. What we absolutely know to be true!

Do you know how much our lives would change if we woke up every morning and when our feet hit the floor, we said, “I am valued and I am treasured! Let’s do this!”

Because the reality is, every human heart was created to feel valued, pursued, desired, important, worthy and sacred. Isn’t so much of what we do and the things we search for actually just a search for that assurance?

Your value comes from your Maker and since your Maker never leaves you, your value can’t decrease. Like, it literally CAN NOT DECREASE. Not your lack of material things, your position in a relationship, your past mistakes or your current issues- literally nothing can remove you from your Heavenly Father’s heart.

You have a special place there. You are His child. Your heart was formed by the works of His hands and He breathed a unique calling and life into you that no one else in this world received. That is your identity and in that, there is no greater reward. Your value was determined long ago and it can not be taken from you.

I’m not sure what your day looks like today. Maybe it is chalked full of appointments and meetings and your career is sky-rocketing and on you feel on top of the world. Or maybe you are just praying that someone calls you back and gives you a chance at a job.

Maybe you finally entered into a relationship that holds promise and is anchored on Jesus and your heart feels like it might burst. Or maybe you’re hoping that someone just actually texts you back…that would be nice.

Maybe you have been on a workout kick coupled with your new organic cleanse and you feel like a million bucks! Or maybe you get ready for work, walk out the door and pray you don’t have enough time to glance at the mirror long enough because you can’t stand what’s staring back at you.

But, guess what!? If you’re the first part of those statements, that doesn’t add any value to you. If you’re the second part of those statements, that doesn’t add any value to you.

I don’t know your circumstances or how life feels for you right now but I do know that none of those things determine the price that has been put on you.

I do know that in the weight of our current reality, these things can feel all-consuming, but they don’t have to be.

I do know that when He called you “mine”, He also attached a tag that said, “Value not up for negotiation”.

I do know that nothing you do in this life could change the way that your Heavenly Father looks at you.

Don’t let satan have a voice in this. It’s been determined and is absolute, you are a priceless gem.

Walk in that today! Speak it over yourself- “I am valued, treasured and worthy. No one can replace me because there is only one me!”

Have a happy Monday!

“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” –Luke 12:6-7

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” –Psalm 139:13-15

Short and sweet— whatcha been doing this morning? Have you developed a healthy routine when your mind wakes up and your feet hit the floor that will ensure a peaceful and productive rest of your day? I have always known how important it is to start your day in ways that provide energy, strength, and focus for the hours that follow…but it felt so difficult. It required some changing of habits and some rearranging of my schedule. It...

Goodbye to guilt & receive His grace.
Goodbye to guilt & receive His grace.

I used to believe that guilt was holy in a way. It showed that I knew what Jesus was asking of me in a moment or that I knew something I should’ve done or been, and I regretted not being/seeing/doing that. Maybe it’s guilt over not being the best daughter you can be. Or brother, wife, husband, friend, sister, etc. Maybe it’s those words you said about a coworker in the heat of the moment that you didn’t...

Speak them out loud.
Speak them out loud.

I remember sitting in a conference a couple years ago and the speaker said, “Tell yourself out loud! Speak it over yourself but give it volume!” And I’m thinking, “I have never done that, consistently at least.” I was also thinking, “Is that like a true difference-maker? The whole giving it volume, making sure your own ears hear it thing?” Well, joke’s on me because I have noticed, over the big and the small things, that when I...
