Perfect for the job

Have you ever started to dream a big dream and a little voice chirps in and says, “Get real, you can’t do that. You will never be ready for that”?

Or maybe you felt the Lord asking you to take a leap of faith and say YES to something and you convinced yourself that you just weren’t good enough?

Your resume wasn’t polished enough.

Your qualifications weren’t impressive enough.

Your experience wasn’t relative enough.

Your personality wasn’t fitting enough.

You just weren’t enough, in some way, shape or form.

I have been guilty of this so many times in my life. I have approached situations and decisions with the mindset of, “Well, I will tackle that when I get myself together a little bit more”…right?

It’s like we want to have every duck in a row, every nook and cranny tended to and have ourselves in a position to where we feel–wait for it–COMFORTABLE.

We want to take a leap of faith with total confidence that we will soar.

Well I am here to tell you one thing: In one way or another, you will not feel “ready”. Your fear will start to talk a little louder, as it whispers your inadequacies, hoping that you step away from the cliff and go back to the safe-zone.

The safe-zone is crowded, full of people that have decided they would rather remain stagnant and see the same scenery than to chance making the jump. And so they settle and they get into a routine. Life feels mundane and unexciting but they’ve convinced themselves that they are incapable of being adventurers and dreamers like those who jump.

But that’s just not true.

Did you know that your God LOVES using the least qualified? Did you know that all throughout the Bible, He positioned people who did not deserve or prepare adequately so that He could be their strength and their shield?

Just think about one: Moses! He was a MURDERER! He struggled with speaking clearly. He was timid and fearful and insecure. And God literally hand-picked him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, across the Red Sea, and into the Promised Land.

So, unfortunately, you don’t get to claim your inadequacy or inability as a reason that God can not use you.

Your willingness? Now, that is a different story. He is not worried about what you lack, He has that covered. He is concerned with your heart.

What do you want? Do you want to remain in the safe-zone or do you want to walk in the magnificent plan He has for your life?

Life Hack: You will never be ready and you will never have it altogether.

But fortunately for us, He still thinks we are PERFECT for the job.

“It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.” -2 Corinthians 3:5
