Trust His timing

How often have you heard the phrase, “Be patient, your time will come”?

Usually said when you are desperately hoping for a certain outcome or waiting for your big break, that allusive promotion, your Prince Charming or whatever it may be– and when said, you want to literally punch that person in the face.

Because right then? You think you know best! In fact, you’d bet money on it. You’re READY for what you want. Right?

Oh man, how wrong I’ve been about this so many times.

I thought I knew.

I thought I understood.

I thought I was prepared.

I thought I knew best; I thought my timeline was better than my Savior’s.

And then He saved me all over again. He reminded me to keep my eyes on Him, cling to His promises, TRUST His provision and steward what was currently on my plate.

And truly, every single time, He was right. It was never that He didn’t want to give me the desires of my heart; it was always that I wasn’t ready to receive them.

What I viewed as “suffering” or “prolonging my promise” was simply the necessary preparation in order to receive it.

And so, today? I remember that all things come in their time. And their time will come. And until then? He deserves all my praise because every gift He gives until then is all grace anyway.

And today I say to you: Be patient, your time will come.

And it will, but in His time. Trust me, you will be so grateful He is God and you are not

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” -Psalm 27:14
