15 things we're wasting way too much energy on...

on October 01, 2026

Some exhaustion comes from what life requires. Some comes from all the places we keep spending ourselves unnecessarily.

• You already have the information the conversation gave you. Replaying it rarely brings clarity; it keeps you inside a moment that already ended.

• Preparation is wise; pre-suffering is not. Don’t make your body survive something your life hasn’t asked of you.

• Clarity is your responsibility; controlling someone’s interpretation isn’t. Another explanation can become an attempt to manage an outcome you don’t own.

• Pain deserves to be felt without being promoted. Five hard minutes don’t have to become the headline over everything still good.

• Constant input makes stillness feel empty. Sometimes reaching for your phone is exactly what keeps you from learning to stay.

• Excellence knows when to work; wisdom knows when to stop. “Enough” keeps insignificant improvements from taking significant energy.

• Imaginary conversations create real stress. Stop making your nervous system attend meetings that aren’t on the calendar.

• Discomfort isn’t always a warning. Sometimes it’s simply what growth feels like. The more we get comfortable being uncomfortable, the more God can use us.

• A packed day can still miss what mattered. Productivity counts what you completed; faithfulness asks if you gave yourself to what was yours.

• Not every choice deserves the weight we give it. Sometimes choosing and moving forward is the wisest thing.

• Attention is one of the purest forms of love. Spend it generously on who is actually in front of you.

• Hurry doesn’t recover lost time. Being behind doesn’t require becoming frantic.

• Knowing more isn’t always living better. Information becomes noise when it occupies attention without changing action.

• Starting offers possibility; finishing requires endurance. Sometimes the shiny new thing is an escape from the faithful hard thing.

• Some seasons won’t explain themselves while we’re living them. Trust believes God is working beyond what we can currently understand.

Maybe the question isn’t, “How do we get more energy?” Maybe it’s: Where are we spending ourselves that God never asked us to?🤍
