A back-to-school prayer

on August 13, 2025

This morning you’ll watch them walk away—maybe with a bounce in their step, maybe with a glance back to make sure you’re still there.
Either way, your heart will feel that tug…love releasing what it wishes it could hold onto.

You’ll notice the way their backpack looks too big on their shoulders. You’ll wonder if you packed enough, if you said enough, if you are enough.
You’ll fight the urge to run after them, to make sure they’re okay, to fill in the gaps you can’t control.

But here’s the truth—you’ve never once sent them out alone.
The One who knit them together goes before them, sits beside them, and covers them under the shadow of His wings. He knows the friends they’ll meet, the words they’ll hear, the fears they might carry, and the courage He’s planted deep in their hearts.

So you whisper a prayer.
You breathe deep, steadying your own heart in His peace.
You smile big so they see your courage, even if your eyes well up when they turn away.
And you let faith, not fear, be what sends them off.

Because they were His before they were yours.
And today, just like every day, they are safest there.

This year will hold moments you planned for and moments you never saw coming—and He will be in every single one. There will be victories to celebrate, lessons that shape them, and glimpses of growth that take your breath away. From the ordinary to the extraordinary, His goodness will meet them in it all.
.
This year will be a story of mystery and majesty and a million moments where the miraculous hand of the Father reminds you—they were HIS first.
And it will be glorious!
