Jesus, thank You for the gift of another week. Another fresh start. Another reminder that mercy is canvassing my entire life! When I take the time to pause and reflect, I am in awe of Your generosity. Your power. Your constant LOVE. It wraps me up and holds me safe.
And today, on this Memorial Day, I’m thinking about how easy it is to rush through life or not recognize the very reason I get to live this day.
Freedom can become so familiar that I forget the sacrifice behind it—would you help me?
The backyard laughter. The slow mornings. The gatherings with family. The ability to worship freely, move freely, speak freely, and dream freely. So many people gave of themselves so that we could experience those gifts more fully.
What a humbling thing to remember. Help us hold this close today + everyday. It really does change the way we go about our days.
It also points me back to You, Jesus. Everything good points me back to You. That never fails.
The One who laid down His life so we could truly live free.
I think one of the greatest dangers in modern life is becoming so distracted that we stop noticing what is sacred. We move fast. We consume quickly. We chase productivity, pressure, comparison, and noise until we lose touch with gratitude, presence, and purpose.
I’m determined to disrupt what feels normal.
Help me, Jesus.
Put a bitter taste in my mouth for being consumed with distractions and help me become starkly aware of a meaningful life. Of YOUR presence—the source of meaning!
You renew my mind with what matters, what lasts, and the importance of who I’m becoming.
I don’t want to just enjoy my days—I want to steward them well.
I don’t want to just consume freedom—I want to live worthy of it.
I don’t want to rush past mercy while asking You for more of it.
Help me.
Show me.
Lead me.
