A prayer for returning to what matters most

on June 08, 2026

Jesus,

I’m so grateful for a new week. What a GIFT! A treasure.

Sometimes I forget how much I need a fresh start and a renewed mind. Then, in Your unrelenting mercy, You remind me.

Before I start carrying things that aren’t mine to carry, I want to remember who You are and what You’ve said.
I recognize how easily I forget. When my mind gets crowded, my calendar fills up, or my attention feels pulled in a hundred different directions, I forget that it is Your capable, healing hands that are holding my life. It is Your strong, generous heart that is leading me forward.

So when my feet feel frantic, I’ll return to who You are.
When my mind rushes ahead, I’ll return to who You are.
When peace feels hard to find, I’ll return to who You are.

You are my Shepherd. I do not have to see the entire path before taking the next step. Shepherds lead. Sheep follow. My job is not to figure everything out. My job is to stay close.

You are my Provider. When scarcity whispers there won’t be enough—enough time, energy, opportunity, or resources—I can remember that You have never failed me. Not once.

You are my Prince of Peace. Not because life is always peaceful, but because You remain steady in the middle of it. Peace is found in proximity to You.

You are my Defender. I do not have to spend this week proving myself, protecting my reputation, or making sure everyone understands me. You see me fully. That is enough.

You are my Wisdom. When decisions feel complicated and the future feels unclear, I can trust that You are faithfully guiding me one step at a time.

You are my Savior. The pressure to save myself, secure myself, and sustain myself was never mine to carry.

And You are my Father—patient, present, attentive. The moment I begin to drift, You lovingly call me back home 🥺 I’m so grateful.

So this week, when rejection stings, anxiety hums, comparison creeps in, or my thoughts begin running faster than my wisdom, help me return.
Return to what is true.
Return to what matters.
Return to Your goodness.
Return to Your presence.

Thank You that I never have to wonder where home is.
It has always been, and will always be, with You🤍
