Father, don’t let us become so familiar with Your faithfulness that we stop being astonished by it. There are prayers we’re living in the answers to, people we once begged You to bring into our lives, and ordinary moments we’d give anything to have back someday.
Help us recognize the goodness already HERE.
Life is wonderful and hard, complicated and beautiful. We can be grateful and still have things we’re praying will change. Thank You that we don’t have to make sense of everything before bringing it to You.we bring our WHOLE selves and You sift, sort, + sustain us.
Lord, keep refining us. Show us what our reactions reveal about our hearts, where we’re making assumptions, and when we’re expecting grace we’re unwilling to extend. We want to become more like Jesus, not just know more ABOUT Him. Humble us.
Correction is a love letter from You; we want to receive it without shame. It is actually strength because we hear You! And we can respond!
Give us discernment. Help us recognize what deserves a response and what needs to be released.
When things don’t unfold as we’d hoped, keep us from interpreting Your character through our circumstances. Help us change our definition of comfort and success. We don’t want ANYTHING apart from You. Learning to walk with You, we discover that the hard and the messy is actually what we want because that’s where we increase our trust and build our faith.
Jesus, our real life—the one right in front of us—THIS season, with all that it holds, is where we want to be. Not in one up ahead or one we’ve constructed in our heads but in this one!
We decide now that we will ENJOY this life You’ve given us!!!
We commit to wanting the kind of fruit that lasts.
We let go of alllllll the things entangling us and stealing our hope.
