Jesus, thank You. A whole week of life before us!
A fresh start— oh how we crave that! Your mercy makes it possible.
Please don’t let familiarity make us numb to the miracle of being HERE.
And Father, will You interrupt our normal this week? Because sometimes our “normal” isn’t bad—it’s just automatic and we want to be continually refined. Awake to the is life!
We feel ourselves reaching for the phone, letting one email change the temperature of our morning, saying yes before asking if something is ours to carry, and moving at the speed of our schedules —then we wonder why our souls feel like they’re trying to catch up. slow us down and pull us in close.
Jesus, You offer us another way.
You were never confused about what mattered most. You could stop for one person while crowds pressed in. You could sleep in a storm. Your assignment came from the Father, not everyone around You.
Teach us that kind of freedom. That kind of obedience!
We can care deeply without carrying everything.
Work hard without worshiping productivity.
Make plans without demanding outcomes.
Hold hopes without gripping timelines.
Be responsible without pretending we are sovereign.
What a RELIEF.
When something small begins taking up enormous space inside us, give us perspective.
Help gratitude inform what we see. What we know about You— the unchanging, unshakeable God— is all that we need to walk in true joy.
Teach us that wonder and hard can occupy the same day. We don’t have to wait until everything settles to receive the life You’re giving us.
Father, make us people who are HERE for it.
And when we start running ahead again, bring us back.
Again and again and again.
We are Yours. You are faithful.
