Another Monday. MORE TIME. 😭🤎 What an unbelievable gift.
Jesus, thank You. For breath in our lungs, people to love, work to put our hands to, and another opportunity to know You more. We are SO grateful.
I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to spend so much of our lives preparing to live them.
Thinking about what could happen. Rehearsing conversations that haven’t taken place. Trying to anticipate problems we haven’t encountered. Mentally living through tomorrow while the people we prayed for, the answers we once begged for, and the goodness of God are sitting RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.
And the wild thing is, we can be doing all of this while genuinely believing we’re trusting God.
Father, forgive us for how often we confuse being prepared with being in control. We don’t want to spend another week asking You to bless our lives while being too preoccupied to actually experience them.
Renew our MINDS. Revive our JOY. Give us a fresh appetite for the life You’ve entrusted to us.
Help us remember that anxiety is not discernment, and imagining every possible outcome doesn’t make us any more equipped to handle what comes.
YOU DO.
And Lord, when we start reaching for tomorrow’s manna, remind us that You have already provided what we need for TODAY. We can plan responsibly without living fearfully. We can care deeply without carrying what belongs to You.
Holy Spirit, we don’t want to just consult You when things get complicated. We want to enjoy Your companionship in the grocery store, the carpool line, the hard conversations, the unexpected interruptions, and the moments nobody else sees.
Make us people who are fully HERE. Quick to notice. Eager to love. Willing to be corrected. Excited to obey.
And please, Jesus, don’t let us become so familiar with Your faithfulness that we lose our WONDER.
We have no idea what this week will bring. But we know who we’re walking into it WITH.
And that changes EVERYTHING.
