A Thanksgiving prayer for the table

on November 27, 2025

There’s something so special about this week—
the way it invites us to slow down, gather close, breathe deeper,
and actually notice the goodness woven through our ordinary days.
Not the big, shiny moments…but the simple ones:
a warm kitchen, a familiar laugh, a meal made with love,
the reminder that we weren’t meant to walk through life alone.
Gratitude grows here—in the small, sacred details we usually rush past.

And the more we pause to see it,
the more our spirits remember that God has been faithful,
not just in the highlight reel moments,
but in the quiet, steady ways He’s carried us all year long.
This week calls us back to that remembering.
It fills the heart in a way only gratitude can.

But for some, this week also holds ache.
Plans shifted. Expectations went unmet.
A seat at the table looks different this year.
Life feels heavier than you hoped,
and the idea of feeling “thankful” feels like more pressure than encouragement.
If that’s you—you’re not doing Thanksgiving wrong.
You’re human.
And Jesus meets you right there, too.
Your place at the table is still holy,
and your presence—even if tender, tired, or trying—is enough.

So whether your heart feels full or fragile,
these prayers are for you.
A prayer for the table you gather around,
and a prayer for the heart you bring with you, even if gratitude does feel a little harder this year.
The goodness of God is not in jeopardy. It is the reason and heart behind everything good and holy and true.🤎🤍
