Don't let insecurity be the narrarator of your story.

on January 13, 2026

Isn’t it wild how easily this happens?
How quickly our minds start filling in the gaps.

We replay a conversation and assume we said the wrong thing.
We notice silence and decide it means disapproval.
We watch someone else succeed and quietly wonder what that says about us.
And without realizing it, we let our insecurities become the filter—
coloring how we interpret tone, timing, feedback, and even absence.

We don’t just assume what others think.
We assume it through the lens of our own fear.

We call it being aware.
Being wise.
Being realistic.

But so often, it’s insecurity narrating the story—
using old wounds, past disappointments, and unhealed places
to frame conclusions no one ever actually said.

Meanwhile, God has already spoken.
He has already named us.
Already called us chosen, held, seen, sustained.
Already declared purpose where we see uncertainty,
and faithfulness where we feel behind.

And yet—we give more weight to imagined opinions
filtered through insecurity
than to eternal truth spoken in love.

So we let assumptions shape how we show up.
We overexplain. We second-guess. We perform or pull back.
We manage perception instead of resting in identity.

But refreshment doesn’t come from controlling how we’re perceived.
Peace doesn’t come from being understood by everyone.
Freedom doesn’t come from finally feeling secure enough.

It comes from returning—again and again—
to what God has already said.

Maybe that looks like pausing before reacting.
Questioning the story your insecurity is telling.
Or gently reminding your soul, “This filter isn’t truth.”

God’s declarations don’t change with mood, feedback, or silence.
They remain steady when everything else feels loud.

So today, let’s loosen our grip on what we assume others think—
especially when those assumptions are shaped by fear—
and hold a little closer to what the One who formed us
has already declared.

His voice was never meant to compete.
And His truth has been waiting for our trust. 🤍
