You don’t know what this day will hold. None of us do. We can do our best to guess and predict but the reality is, uncertainty is the truth behind every future moment.
And so—it’s crucial how you set your approach. Your perspective. It’s vital to consider how you will respond and focus on who you want to represent so that you don’t live distracted…or find yourself living in a way that doesn’t reflect the priorities you hold, the Hope that you have, and the peace that He’s promised you.
As you live, consider…
1. If no one notices or affirms or claps for the work that you do and the time that you give, will you still show up the same? Will you steward with excellence + operate with intention is Jesus is the only eye who sees?
2. If others operate in a way that causes pain or stirs offense, how will you respond? Will their countenance or reactions determine the kindness you extend?
3. If your thoughts were to be made public—fears, desires, the what ifs, judgements, pondering—would it please God? Would it honor others?
Guarding your mind + protecting your thought stream is the first step to producing a heart of peace.
4. If stepping out in truth or dealing with things that have been uncovered makes you uncomfortable, will you remain on the narrow way?
Deciding now that truth will always lead you will help you resolve to dig deep when you want to run away or avoid.
5. If life offers avenues of distraction or the world insists that your pace be quickened, will you stay in-step with the Savior?
When you let your priorities determine your schedule instead of the other way around, your time preserves your mission.
