Somewhere along the way, we learned that having it together is what earns trust—what keeps things moving, what convinces everyone (including ourselves) that we’re okay. We are good! So we show up composed, capable, managing the details… even when everything inside feels scattered or heavy.
But sometimes—if we are being honest—it’s not so dramatic or obvious.
Sometimes it’s just the quiet realization that you can only carry so many bags at once. That your hands are full. That your capacity has limits. Not because something is wrong—but because you’re human.
Or that you’re tired of being told, “you’re so strong!”…because truth be told, you don’t feel it within you today.
Scripture tells us over and over and over again a quieter, freeing truth. God is not drawn to our self-sufficiency. He’s drawn to our need. Our vulnerability. Our fragility. Our limits. Our lack.
Some of you are carrying more than you’ve named—exhaustion you’ve normalized, grief you’ve tucked away, fear you’ve learned to manage instead of release.
And others of you aren’t in crisis—you’re just stretched. Holding responsibilities, relationships, expectations, and decisions that were never meant to be carried alone.
Not having it together is not a liability in the Kingdom. It’s an opening. An opportunity!
Sometimes it looks like realizing you’ve been bracing for impact when no one asked you to.
Sometimes it looks like noticing how tired you are—and finally believing that matters.
Sometimes it looks like letting go of the version of yourself who could do it all.
Sometimes it looks like choosing honesty over composure, rest over resilience, truth over proving.
God does not ask you to perform your way into His care. He meets you where your control runs out. Grace is not given to those who try harder—but to those who come honest.
Because God is not fragile.
He is not overwhelmed by what overwhelms you.
He does not misstep, miscalculate, or lose sight of you.
His strength is steady. His wisdom is sure. His faithfulness does not waver.
You don’t have to have it together today.
God does.
And He always will 🤍
