God is so glad He picked you.

Even when you make the mistake,
Even when you want to tap out early,
Even when you forget His faithfulness,
Even when you feel overwhelmed by the call,
Even when others seem more qualified,
Even when you struggle to trust Him,
Even when your progress feels invisible,
Even when your faith is quiet and your questions are loud,
Even when you don’t feel spiritual or praying feels pointless,
Even when you operate in a way that doesn’t imitate Him,
Even when you let shame write the story that freedom already claimed,
Even when life feels full of uncertainty and you long for control,
Even when, even then, God is SO glad He picked you.
Because you see, His choosing was far more about your availability than your aptitude. His focus was on your teachability, not your talent. One is about what you can do; the other is about who you love. Whom you serve. Whom you’re giving your life to.

I think, sometimes, wherever we are and whatever we are doing, we need to hear these words:
God is so glad He picked you.
Imagine Him—in His linen garments and heart full of compassion leaning into you as He lifted your head and spoke those words.
How does that make you feel?
Do you believe it?
Will you receive it, even though it feels hard to comprehend or impossible to earn?

He chose you because you are His.
He LOVES your imperfections that invite His mercy and strength to flourish as you find your way.
He knew your flaws and frustrations and frailty and feeble grip when He gave you the assignment. Do you think He’s surprised by them?

You don’t get to disqualify what God has already qualified.
All of the mess—it’s the ministry in and around and through you.
You don’t get to decide whether His grace actually covers your specific situation; if He has deemed it so, it is so.
You may say it’s your lack of ability…but is it?
Are you willing to come into agreement with what He has already spoken so that His strength can be made obvious where yours falls short?

The Provider and Creator doesn’t miss details.
If He is truly both, then the argument and striving must cease. The only answer- if both are actually true—is dependence and trust in order to align and flourish.
