It's time for a new soundtrack

on March 10, 2026

At some point in life, we all create a soundtrack in our minds.

A quiet loop of conclusions we’ve drawn about ourselves, about others, and even about God.

Sometimes those conclusions were formed in moments when we didn’t yet have the wisdom, perspective, or healing to understand what was really happening. And before long, that soundtrack begins to include an inner voice that critiques, questions, and quietly makes us smaller.

A door closed and we decided, Maybe I’m not capable enough.
Someone walked away and we quietly believed, Maybe I’m not worth staying for.
A season felt confusing and we wondered, Maybe God isn’t as close as I thought.
Someone said something about us and we thought, Maybe that is true about me.

Without realizing it, those moments start writing a narrative that plays on repeat. Over and over and over again, diluting and distracting and diminishing us from what Jesus says.

Certain seasons have a way of bringing those old soundtracks back to the surface. A disappointment, uncertainty, or a moment that echoes past pain—and suddenly the old narrative is playing again in the background.

At first, that can feel uncomfortable. Sometimes even painful.

But—it’s actually mercy.

Because you begin to realize you’ve been trying to dance through life while the soundtrack looping in the background isn’t the life-giving truth of the Lord. It’s an old interpretation. A story written when you didn’t yet have the wisdom to understand the chapter clearly.

And one of the most beautiful parts of spiritual growth is realizing that not every story we’ve believed is actually the truest one.

Wisdom revisits old chapters with clearer eyes.

What once felt like rejection may have been protection.
What once felt like failure may have been formation.
What once felt like silence may have been God guiding you somewhere better.

Over time, the soundtrack begins to change.

You release interpretations written in pain rather than truth, and the narrative becomes less about what went wrong and more about what God was shaping.

The music that plays in the background has the power to strengthen or shrink you—time to change it up 🎵
