Let your limitations lead you into deeper reliance

on June 05, 2025

“Did I respond to that text?”
“I wonder what I should plan for his birthday.”
“Doctor’s appointment next Thursday—check.”
“I really should get that thank-you note in the mail.”
“Do I have the ingredients for that new recipe I saved?”
“Wait… is everything toxic now? I seriously can’t keep up.”
“I don’t love the way my body looks right now.”
“I need to be more intentional with my quiet time.”
“I’m behind on everything.”

And that’s just the first 60 seconds of trying to fall asleep.

We talk a lot about physical exhaustion, but mental exhaustion?
It’s a whole different weight.

And the wild part is—it often goes unnoticed, even by you.
Because you’re still doing the things.
You’re functioning. Smiling. Getting through the day.
But internally? You’re juggling a hundred invisible tabs,
each one quietly draining your energy.

And when your brain is working that hard,
it makes sense that your soul feels a little foggy.
A little slower. A little unsure.

It’s not weakness. It’s not laziness.
It’s not you “failing” to keep up.
It’s just your mind waving a white flag,
asking for some room to breathe.

You don’t need to prove your capacity.
You’re allowed to change your pace.
You’re allowed to reset your expectations.
You’re allowed to say,
“Today, I trust God more than I trust my to-do list.”

Because redefining your capacity?
It’s not giving up.
It’s giving in—to the One who knows your limits
and loves you right there, too.

So if today feels foggy,
if your brain feels cluttered and your spirit feels thin,
that’s reason enough to slow down.
To hand the weight over.
To remember:
Where you end, He begins. 🤍
