What if today, we just decided to really show up like He is returning?
We probably would let yesterday be yesterday and tomorrow be tomorrow, not worrying about how we will figure it all out.
We probably would really let it go because we know that time is of the essence. Distractions wouldn’t seem so appealing because we would be Heaven-focused, walking each step with a heart of wisdom.
We probably would be radical about forgiveness and gentleness. Forgetting our egos or preserving our reputation or earning the likes of those around us, we would strive to show the unapologetic acceptance of Jesus. We would trust His covering and His hand of justice.
We would speak life into our own souls and those around us, not feeling the need to prove points or “win”, because if Jesus isn’t winning, we aren’t either.
We would probably laugh and laugh freely and loudly and OFTEN. Not being so weighed down by the world or consumed with what’s next, we would find new lightness in our steps and JOY for our present.
We would probably eat to fuel our body, not to make it look a certain way or impress a certain someone. And we would fill it with nourishment that revived and refreshed our minds and our spirit. We would see our bodies as blessings, not burdens, and we would use our hands and feet to walk in the undeniable compassion of the One who always stops to see others.
We would probably welcome challenges instead of run from them, fully aware that His divine placement and purpose is worthy of all our trust. We would reach deep in our pockets and expect to have the tools we need to fight any battle we faced. Confidence would fill our steps as victory led us forward. Battles would become opportunities and anticipation would replace our anxiety.
We would probably count it ALL joy and worship Him with every fiber of our being.
Eyes peeled,
Heart open,
Feet ready,
Arms extended,
And our soul at rest.
But what if...what if we could live this way today?
What if this is our reality?
Will we show up?
