We read about miracles in Scripture with such familiarity. Seas parting. Graves opening. Bodies healed. Chains breaking. We nod along, underline verses, teach the stories—yet when it comes to our own lives, we often pray as though God is distant. As though He used to move like that. As though miracles were for then, not now.
And maybe part of the reason is this: we’ve narrowed our definition of what a miracle looks like.
Yes—some of you are praying for big things. Healing that hasn’t come yet. A prodigal to come home. Restoration in a marriage. A job to open up. A baby. Relief from anxiety or pain. Direction when everything feels foggy. Breakthrough where there’s only been resistance. Resurrection in places that feel sealed shut.
God sees every one of those prayers.
But there are also miracles happening quietly along the way—ones you won’t notice unless you have eyes to see them.
A softened heart where bitterness once lived.
The courage to circle back and apologize.
Asking for help instead of pretending you’re fine.
Choosing forgiveness when resentment felt safer.
Showing up again—to therapy, to prayer, to the hard conversation.
Trying something you’ve been insecure about for years.
Peace that arrives without explanation.
These are not “small” miracles. They are holy ones.
Scripture doesn’t present God as distant. It calls Him Emmanuel—God with us. The same Jesus who noticed tears before they were explained, who responded to faith as small as a whisper, who stepped into both celebration and suffering—He has not changed.
Miracles aren’t always loud. Often, they’re quiet moments of becoming. And if we don’t learn to notice them, we’ll miss the ways God is already at work.
So today—whether you’re believing for something life-altering or learning to recognize grace in the middle of your ordinary—this is your reminder:
He is near.
He is attentive.
He is still making all things new.
It’s a really good day for a miracle.
