Scripture says today has enough worries of its own

on May 27, 2026

Do you ever feel like your brain never fully turns off?
Like even during the quiet moments, your mind is still managing something?

Still replaying conversations.
Still anticipating problems.
Still carrying responsibility for people, outcomes, timelines, finances, relationships, your children, your work, your future.

I think many of us are carrying a level of stress our souls were never designed to hold. Most of us, actually.

And it happens slowly. We don’t even recognize it. It’s the norm, so why would we?

A little more pressure.
A little more noise.
A little more urgency.
A little more access to everything all the time.

We don’t even notice the added weight—it just feels heavier.
But we were not created to absorb the emotional weight of the world every single day without pause.
Yet many of us wake up and immediately ingest unrest before we even speak to God.

We scroll before we breathe.
Consume before we pray.
React before we process.

And eventually our nervous systems start sounding alarms for burdens God never asked us to carry in the first place.

That’s the question I keep coming back to lately: How much of the stress we’re experiencing actually belongs to us? Truly.

Of course life is hard. Of course compassion matters. But somewhere along the way, many of us started believing we were responsible for things only God can hold.

We carry tomorrow before it arrives.
We absorb everyone’s emotions and call it love.
We stay hyper-alert and call it responsibility.
We confuse chronic worry with wisdom.

And eventually, our souls become exhausted from trying to function outside of our human design. Scripture says today has enough worries of its own—I think God meant it.

Maybe we were never meant to live mentally five weeks ahead, emotionally attached to every outcome, and spiritually exhausted from trying to hold everything together.

You are human.
Beloved.
Deeply held by God.

Maybe peace begins with honest recognition:
This is too heavy for me.
This belongs to God. It’s His! Always has been.
I am allowed to trust Him with what I cannot carry.
That’s faith.
Thank you Father for reminding me of my role.
I actually will stay in THIS day.
