Speak this over your week:

on August 18, 2024

Sunday is here and a new week is on the horizon—it comes every week and yet, we still find it surprising us in new ways…our realization time and time again that we aren’t in control but we walk with the One who is.
The greatest plan-maker and promise-keeper is here and because He is, we can ask ourselves these questions as He helps us sort through each one:

This week, we will:
🤍 We will begin each day reflecting on His fingerprints and anticipating His faithfulness. “Where do I see God moving around me?”—this questions paves the way for gratitude to lace our steps and the lens of faith to guide our way.

🤍 We will enter conversations with a commitment to speak only what is beneficial, true, and kind to everyone involved. “how can I speak life in this place?”—asking this question invites compassion, awareness, and love into every corner.

🤍 Knowing anxiety will knock and life will throw its curveballs, asking the question, “Is God sovereign over this?” reminds our soul that there is nothing that shocks, surprises, or scares Him. When we remember that the uncertainty and unsteadiness we feel is an opportunity for the Rock to show His security, we find peace again.

🤍 We will not be shocked by opposition or hurdles as they come—they were promised! They are Biblical. They are refinement. They are holy. We will ask, “Will this increase my courage and build my faith?” and if the answer is yes, we will welcome the discomfort and difficulty knowing they invite dependence, which is the richest thing we could acquire.

🤍 We will pause and slow down our pace, cherishing the present and recognizing the moments we have—all are sacred. We will take in the beauty around us and ask the Holy Spirit, “How can I bring Heaven to earth here?”…whether it’s a word to someone else, a prayer over our own soul, or inviting a new countenance in a place, we will let the eternal guide our temporal.

This week, we will ask questions that invite Jesus instead of questions that prioritize the world or heighten our fears.
Above all—knowing the answer to “Am I unconditionally loved?” And “Is God who He says He is” are both YES, we can rest in great peace tonight 🤍
