The road to receiving God's best usually looks like loss of what you thought was good.

on July 30, 2025

Maybe you’re right in the middle of it—that confusing in-between where what you thought God was going to do hasn’t happened, and you’re holding the weight of unmet expectations in one hand and silence in the other. It’s not that you’re ungrateful. You just thought it would look different. Feel easier. Arrive sooner. You did what you thought He asked of you… and now you’re standing in the aftermath of a “no,” trying to reconcile your faith with your frustration.

But what if His “no” is actually a louder “yes” to something your heart hasn’t imagined yet? What if the delay is divine protection, and the closed door is mercy you’ll thank Him for later? His plans don’t rush. They don’t bend to pressure. And they don’t break under weight. They are built on wisdom you can’t see yet and goodness you’ll feel when it unfolds. The timeline He’s working from isn’t careless—it’s kind. Every pause has purpose. Every detour is drenched in detail. Every turn has tenderness and transformation tucked into its bend.

His agenda isn’t out to disappoint you. It’s out to deliver you into fullness, into freedom, into the kind of life that doesn’t just look good—but is good. Good for the deepest parts of your soul. Good for your legacy. Good in the ways that last. Good for the Kingdom. The kind of good that fights past the shortsighted ways of your flesh and keeps eternity in view in everything it does.

🤍 If you’re being asked to let go, it’s only because He’s making room for better.
“If you could only see”, I imagine Him whispering. “Oh if you could only see what I have for you.”

Grieving expectations can be brutal but on the other side? Walking out His kindness and experiencing transformation from the inside out? ITS EVERYTHING.

And slowly, as you enter into the unknown, you begin to yearn for, plead for, and crave what He wants for you, even when it’s not what you thought you wanted. Or rather, especially when it’s not.
Because He knows what you don’t, holds what you don’t have access to, see what you can’t, and gives far beyond anything you could conjure up.

Aren’t you so grateful that the Giver, YOUR Heavenly Father + Provider—He knows what is good.
