You’re in the thick of it.
The in-between.
The process that you didn’t choose but the one that’s refining you.
You’re navigating the intricacies of a situation or circumstance you don’t prefer:
You’re showing up and you’re staying the course, even when you want to tap out.
You’re enduring and enduring is HARD.
And even when you see God aligning and shifting and moving and providing only your best, reality is still reality.
You can be worn slam out and wildly expectant.
You can be humbled by His kindness and still desiring some relief.
You can be excited about what He’s doing inside of you but wondering when will things change around you.
You can be filled with hope and still desperate for a touch from His hand.
You can praise and exclaim, “GOD IS ABLE” and also feel the weight of reality as you whisper, “But…this is HARD.”
It doesn’t take away from your faith to grieve the fact that you aren’t home yet…to understand and be aware of the fragility + frailty of the flesh you wear is the very thing that draws you back to His feet as He reminds you, “Yes—and I am ABLE.”
Let His heart assure you of what is true: that this isn’t forever…that sometimes when you feel like you’re weary in the secret place, the Holy Spirit reminds you that you’re being formed in the sacred tension it brings.
So, scream it! Cry it! Tell it! Voice it—THIS IS HARD!!!!!!!! I want it to be over!!!! Or better!!! Or easier!! Or more comfortable!!!
And also—“My God is able.”
Even when you cant see it,
Even when you can’t predict it,
Even when you can’t hold it,
Even when you can’t feel it,
He is working all things out for your good.
Strip the words.
Remove the flowers.
These are the roots. You can trust Him. And when the whole world fails you, He never will 🤍
