What does this season need from you?

When was the last time you stopped long enough to ask yourself, “Has my season changed? Where am I actually at right now?”

Most of us never do—well, until we are forced to. Until things come to a head and we feel our flesh warring against our spirit, trying to figure out what’s going on.

We wake up carrying the same expectations we had six months ago, five years ago, or before life changed. We expect ourselves to have the same energy, the same emotional bandwidth, the same margin, the same pace, + the same capacity as we used to.
Then, when we can’t keep up with the version of ourselves we’re still measuring against, we assume we’re failing.

We don’t stop to consider that maybe our season changed…and our expectations never did.

Maybe life asked you to become a caregiver.
Maybe you became a parent.
Maybe you’ve walked through loss, healing, chronic stress, burnout, or responsibilities you never saw coming.
Maybe God has expanded your capacity in some places while inviting you to slow down in others.

Either way, you’re not standing where you used to.
Wisdom is having the humility to take inventory of where you ACTUALLY are.

What strength has God given you in this season?
What responsibilities has He entrusted to you?
What limitations are real—not because you’ve become less faithful, but because life is asking something different of you?

The enemy loves when we confuse changing capacity with changing faithfulness. Because if he can convince us those are the same thing, we’ll spend our days feeling guilty for not producing what this season was never designed to produce.

But Scripture never says capacity is the measure of faithfulness.
Faithfulness isn’t about carrying the same amount in every season. It’s about trusting God with what He’s placed in your hands TODAY.

Don’t miss the gold hidden in this season because you’re grieving the one that came before it.

Ask a better question.
Not, “Why can’t I do what I used to?”
But, “Lord, what does faithfulness look like here?”

You know what is so beautiful? When you recognize where you are and the Holy Spirit helps you adjust.
