What to leave behind in 2025

on December 30, 2025

There is so much talk about resolutions + goals + things to DO! And that is so GREAT!
But sometimes I think it’s easier to focus on a new project rather than gut a room + let God renovate.
As we step into a new year, it isn’t about fixing yourself. God does the transforming. But it is about being good ground for Him to work.
What rhythms need to go?
What drains, discourages, distracts, or deters us?

Let’s remember:
Healing is rarely instant + never rushed. God heals in truth + love, not pressure, and His timing protects what hurried hands can’t.

A lot of the weight you’ve been carrying = you trying to control an outcome. God will do His part—entrust it back to Him.

Striving doesn’t silence insecurity; it feeds it. Rest + margin create space for the Spirit to remind you who you already are.

Boundaries aren’t a lack of love—they’re an act of stewardship. God entrusts us with limits so we can live faithfully within them.

Exhaustion isn’t proof of obedience. God invites us to live from His strength. Living depleted is fruit of self-reliance + pride.

Not every unresolved thing is yours to manage. Some tension is meant to be surrendered so God can work where you cannot.

God often does His deepest work underground. Growth rooted in Him is forming even when results aren’t visible yet.

Rest isn’t a reward for productivity; it’s a rhythm God designed. Slowing down is a MUST! It’s how we live how we were created to live.

Formation often stretches us beyond what feels comfortable. God uses uncharted waters not to harm us, but to shape us.

Every yes is a form of stewardship. Wisdom pauses long enough to consider what obedience will require.

What we give our first + last attention to slowly forms us. Beginning + ending with God re-centers the soul.

God’s voice is rarely loud or rushed. Stillness trains us to recognize His leading.

Noise may distract, but truth transforms. Be ruthless about eliminating noise. It feels radical but it’s how you hear Him.

Faith rarely comes with full clarity. Obedience is often the place where understanding begins.

Familiar patterns feel safe, but often rob you of being faithful. One stair step + faith for the rest.
