How do you write a caption for a moment in time that you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is a miracle straight from the Father’s hands?
Sledge woke up this morning + the first thing that came out of his mouth was, “Good morning, ma ma! Thank you for waking me up today! Was your sleep good with da da?” (he asks this every morning.)
I watched him tip his little head to the side, working so hard to form these words that have been bottled up inside his special, inquisitive mind and I nearly burst into tears.
Only God.
Sledge TOLD ME the Armor of God as we talked about how He has prepared us for this day. Every step.
I texted my mom this morning, “I’m overwhelmed by God watching Sledge live.”
Does He have to do any of what He has done to be the kind, sovereign, LOVING, steadfast Father that He is? Not a single bit.

But every time my own heart needs an infusion of hope, God does 2 things: 1.) shows me past mountains we have climbed and 2.) points to the next one.
There are prayers that I pleaded Him for that are now our normal.
Mountains that we were told were impossible are now the view behind us.
I think that’s our lives with Jesus: Yesterday’s mountain becomes today’s evidence.
Evidence that God was always working and the roots being strengthened are worth the work they require.
Life is filled with questions but we have receipts.
By His unfathomable GRACE, we get to suit up again.
And gratitude is the language of warfare — letting who we KNOW God is inform our circumstance.
Now excuse me while I plan some trips. Sledge wants to be a pilot ✈️
I don’t doubt it one bit.
