You are being prepared, not passed over.

There’s a quiet way disappointment shows up that doesn’t always feel dramatic.

It doesn’t always look like heartbreak—sometimes it’s just a low, lingering question beneath your day: why not me? Why not this opportunity, this timing, this door.
And slowly, that question starts to shape the story you’re telling yourself—that you’ve been overlooked or passed by.
It’s a powerful narrative that then filters everything you experience, including your relationships with others, yourself, and mainly— the One who authors your story.

But “why not me?” assumes absence. It subtly suggests that God is withholding—or that He has forgotten you.

And Scripture tells a different story.

God is not absent in the waiting—He is active in it.
“The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me” -Psalm 138:8

A better question is: God, what are You preparing me for? Father, what are you doing that I can’t yet see? Because it’s so much more real than what I can.
Give me faith. Open my eyes to the supernatural.

Because throughout Scripture, preparation is often hidden.
David was formed in obscurity.
Joseph was shaped in confinement.
Even Jesus spent years in quiet obedience before public ministry.

What feels like delay is often discipleship. What feels like being passed over is often God strengthening what will need to last.
“After you have suffered a little while, He Himself will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you” -1 Peter 5:10

Maybe this looks like not rushing into what’s available, trusting God’s timing.
Releasing comparison when others step into what you hoped for.
Staying faithful in small, unseen places.
Writing down what’s true when your thoughts begin to drift.

You are not behind. You are not overlooked.
“No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” -Psalm 84:11

You are being prepared.
His plans consider ALL—mostly, the formation of your soul and the substance of your heart.
He will not forsake or forget you.

He is forming you for what’s ahead—and you can trust His heart.

Maybe the surest sign of faith is celebrating the sunshine + harvest for others and trusting the One who brings the rain.
Turns out, the harvest becomes the trust you gain 🤍
