You are capable of not just enduring change, but FLOURISHING with it.

“I think Sledge is ready for this…we are going to try something a little different.”
His therapist handed him a forearm crutch or a crutch-cane (figured you might like learning because I wasn’t sure what to call it either), and he started to check it out. Hold it. Move around with it.
It was REALLY wobbly at first. New. Unfamiliar. He wasn’t quite sure when to stick it on the floor and when to let it glide in the air.
But soon enough, after hardly any time, he was walking all over the place, loving the new independence. You could see his eyes focused and really wanting to get this.
His tenacity when given new challenges is awe-inspiring to me.

We nicknamed him Charlie. Sometimes naming the unfamiliar helps it be a little less scary.
Turns out, he always wants to make sure Charlie (his cane) and Wally (his walker) are safely in the hotel room each night.
All aboard 🫡

But as I watched him find his way around and learn this new tool, I was overcome thinking about the love of the Heavenly Father—the Good Shepherd, always leading us into greener pastures—and how He always knows when change is necessary.
We often don’t realize we are ready until we are walking on new ground. Our flesh wants us to gain footing immediately but faith knows fragility invites the foundation. It’s the necessary ingredient to lean in.
It’s the hard work. The healthiest work. The HOLY work.

Your flesh likes to confuse comfort with ability…it forgets that only one person knows what you’re actually capable of enduring + doing and that person is the One who made you.
Comfort covers up the places that God wants to expose, heal, and transform.
Change reveals it.
Humanity doesn’t like wobbly knees but faith depends on it. Wobbly knees that become knee prints at His feet. Reliance requires it. Surrender pleas for it. Sanctification yearns for it. And discipleship dances with it.

If you only knew how capable you are of not just enduring change, but FLOURISHING with it.

God sees where you are and He has BIG plans for where He wants to take you.
Your willingness to embrace change will determine your posture, perspective, and therefore, your power, as you live.

What’s your Charlie? 🫶🏻
