I pray you take these words to heart—listen, receive, and let the Holy Spirit affirm them deep within your soul.
YOU are the parent for the job.
Not the parent you see on Instagram. Not the parent you wish you were on your hardest day—the one who never raises her voice, never loses her patience, never whispers under their breath, “I just need a minute.”
The one God handpicked, on purpose, for these kids, in this exact season, facing these exact obstacles, with the resources you actually have—not the resources you think you need, not the parent down the street’s resources, not the version of yourself from five years ago—HERE! YOU!
He knew what today would require of you before you ever walked into it. He is not surprised by your limits or your children’s—they are LIFELINES so that we can become people of dependence. He is not waiting for you to have more capacity or more knowledge—He’s waiting on you to TRUST that He will supply + sustain.
It is HARD—these years of development where you don’t always see the fruit of your labor or you struggle to discern how to righteously parent in an ever-shifting culture.
You are not just raising children. You are being formed in the raising. Every hard bedtime, every conversation you didn’t handle perfectly, every moment you had to apologize and start over—none of it is wasted. It’s the curriculum, not the interruption to it.
KNOW that God is doing so much more underneath the surface than you can see from where you’re standing. Growth that isn’t visible yet is still growth. Roots don’t announce themselves. They just hold everything up when the storm comes.
Keep showing up. Keep watering. Keep believing in a harvest you may not get to see this season, or even this year.
You are not behind. You are not failing. You are not too much or not enough. You are being formed—and so are they 🤍
