Surrender tomorrow. Stay in today.

on October 12, 2026

You know how when you’re worried about something and someone says, “Don’t worry! God’s got you!” and somehow that just makes you more frustrated? 😫

Not because you don’t believe it, but because you’re still anxious, unsettled, or genuinely afraid, and being told not to worry doesn’t exactly make those feelings disappear.

Meanwhile, your mind has already circled every possible outcome, hoping that thinking about it one more time might make you better prepared.
And listen, I GET IT.

Sometimes it’s a conversation we’re dreading, a text we’re overanalyzing, or wondering how someone will respond. Other times it’s a doctor’s appointment, a relationship we’re worried about, or news we’re praying we won’t receive.

And sometimes we’ve lived through enough to know that hard things really DO happen, so part of us just wants to see them coming this time.

But how much time do we spend imagining tomorrow’s problems without accounting for tomorrow’s provision? We can picture what might go wrong, but we can’t yet see the wisdom we’ll have, the people who might show up, the unexpected help, or how God will sustain us.

Do me a favor: think about how many things you’ve worried over that never happened or unfolded NOTHING like you imagined. How many?

Yes, some things DO happen, and they’re HARD. Following Jesus has never made us immune to heartbreak.
Matthew 6 talks so much about this (go read it!).
Jesus doesn’t promise a painless future; He reminds us that we have a Father who knows what we need.
How much good are we missing TODAY because we’re mentally living through things that haven’t happened?

You can care deeply without carrying something constantly.
You can do what wisdom requires without controlling every outcome. And you can enjoy what’s good today without feeling irresponsible about tomorrow.
In fact, the foundation of true stewardship BEGINS with surrendering tomorrow + staying in today.

There is so much about tomorrow you don’t know, including the grace, strength, and goodness of God you haven’t even experienced yet.
I won’t say, “don’t worry.”
I’ll just ask, “What’s actually helpful today?”

History says, tomorrow will come and He will still hold it 🤍
