What does it look like to be brave?

What does it look like to be brave? Is there a formula? How do you choose to be courageous again and again, even when things don’t work out like you thought they would or in the timeline you were hoping for?

I think it looks like this—just showing up. Showing up again and again and again, without a promise of a certain result but rather full trust in one simple truth: God is with you.

You see, being brave with your life is like getting a VIP backstage pass to God’s provision; because you choose to be courageous and go where others may not, because you are willing to get uncomfortable, because you are willing to take step after step, especially after you fall, you get to hear and see and experience the Lord in a unique way.

And because you are courageous, others get to experience that too.
Being brave with your life will always meet you with the realization that even when it’s hard or confusing or uncertain or shaky, God is trustworthy. He meets you where you are and He knows what you need. He is faithful to provide all that you need to get to the other side.

Feel His hand in yours as He whispers to your soul, “Do not be afraid. I am with you.” And as you walk—step by step by step, you will help others be brave, too.
And that? That would look so much like Jesus.

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.
For He will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with His feathers.
He will shelter you with His wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”
Psalm 91:1-4
